OLD TO GOLD

by Louis Davis

A jewellery manufacturer and dealer that sources precious metals from the in-house dismantling and refinement of destroyed technology. It emphasises recycling and refurbishment in technological waste, in a bid to raise awareness and combat the increasing environmental harm caused by said waste. It also attempts to convey a sentimental sincerity to how we regard every day items and technology in its juxtaposing of jewellery, a highly precious commodity, and technology, a planned obsolescence.
The buildings facade changes throughout the day, planned translucencies allow light through, illuminating at night and allowing a window for view in day. The internal structure is built around a large curved class internal wall, which allows the public to wind through the building viewing the processes without exposure to toxic elements.
